This may have come from the success of the sensational new sporty Mustang hitting showrooms in 1965. The end was coming near for a Thunderbird in convertible form with 1966 being the final chance to order one.

The 390ci V8 remained the standard powerplant for all Thunderbirds making 300 horsepower paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. Also new for 1965 were standard power front disc brakes aiding in superior stopping power. The popular sequential rear turn signals were incorporated in 1965 which illuminated three individual sections towards the direction you were turning, made even more famous as an attribute on Carol Shelby's GT Mustangs. It maintained the quad headlights and wheelbase of the previous design with similar grill and bumpers. The newly revised fourth generation Thunderbird hit the streets in 1964 showcasing crisper body lines, squaring off at the fenders at the front and rear. We are proud to offer for sale a very nicely documented 1965 Thunderbird Convertible with many factory features to include power seat, power windows, power locks, power steering & brakes, tilt-a-way steering column, remote mirror, AM/FM radio, and more!
